Mark Bridges: BVMS GPCert(Ophth) MRCVS Practice owner and Veterinary Surgeon
Mark qualified from Glasgow University Veterinary School in 1987. During his initial six years of working in a rural farm animal practice in Somerset, he developed a keen interest in small animal practice. Mark decided to move to Cardiff to further his experience in this area. He met his wife, Rachel who was a nurse in the practice. In 2003 they opened Bridges Veterinary Surgery. Mark is interested in all aspects of small animal medicine and surgery and gained the GP certificate in Ophthalmology. Mark has also completed courses in acupuncture and advanced orthopaedics. When not working, Mark is kept busy with 2 young daughters, Tezzy the dog and their 3 cats. He also enjoys going to the gym, windsurfing and skiing.

Rachel Bridges: Practice Owner
Mark and Rachel met in 1996 while they were both working at another veterinary practice. Whilst they both worked in a couple of different practices the dream was always to start up their own where they would be happy for their own pets to be and a lovely place for them to work, Mark with his Veterinary expertise and Rachel with her animal care, practice management and reception knowledge.
In 2003 they took a big leap and opened their own practice ‘Bridges Veterinary Surgery’. It’s been hard work but they've loved the challenge of creating a practice that they could be very proud of. In Rachels spare time she is busy charging around after two very active children, their crazy dog Tezzy and her three cats.

Karen Penhale RVN- Registered Veterinary Nurse
Karen has worked in the veterinary field for 13 years, starting out as a receptionist and steadily working towards nursing. Karen qualified as an RVN in 2017. She has a beautiful black and white cat named Stevie, who although small has a big personality and rules the household. In her spare time she enjoys listening to live music and supporting her local rugby team.

Jordan Evans: ANA- Animal Nursing Assistant
Jordan has worked in the veterinary profession for 18 years. In April 2012, she joined the Bridges Veterinary team. Jordan qualified as an Animal Nurse Assistant in 2014. In her spare time she enjoys socialising with her family and friends and travelling.

Leanne Bundy: RVN- Registered Veterinary Nurse
Leanne has been working in Veterinary Practice since 2002 and qualified as an RVN in 2008. She has a keen interest in nurse clinics,emergency and critical care nursing and emergency surgery. She has always been surrounded by animals large and small and currently owns two expensive ponies named Callie and Archie.

Rachel Sims RVN CertNCS(VPM) : Head Registered Veterinary nurse
Rachel has worked in the veterinary industry since 2005 and qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2017. Rachel worked in various private and charity clinics in south wales before joining the Bridges team in August 2020. Rachel has a keen interest in radiography, nurse clinics and laboratory work and holds a pet health councillor qualification and a nurse merit award in dermatology. Rachel has also recently completed a certificate in Veterinary Practice Management. Outside of work Rachel enjoys spending time with her family, watching rugby and gardening. Rachel has a very spoilt , naughty pony named Jack who she has owned since she was a child and a sassy OAP cat called Peggy.

Carly Sedgemore VNA : Veterinary nursing assistant

Dr Erin Seery BVSc MRCVS - Veterinary Surgeon
Erin grew up in South Africa and graduated from the Onderstepoort Veterinary Institute in 2017, she then fell in love with Wales and after working at a couple of practices settled in here at Bridges in 2024. Erin enjoys working up complex medicine cases and imaging, especially ultrasound. Erin has a soft spot for spicy cats, which she calls cats with attitude! In her spare time Erin enjoys running, doing crossword puzzles and socialising with friends. Erin has a very spoilt dog named Lola who is an absolute Diva.
Megan Edge RVN DipAniPhys - Registered Veterinary Nurse and Animal Physiotherapist
Meg qualified as a Nurse in 2019 after studying at Abbeydale Veterinary College, after beginning her career as kennel assistant in 2012 ,and qualified as an animal physiotherapist in 2022. Meg is really passionate about rehabilitation, she loves helping pets recovering from surgery and pets with musculoskeletal conditions recover and be as mobile and pain free as possible. She also runs strength training classes for dogs for fitness and agility. In her spare time Meg loves attending live country music nights, socialising with friends and doing puzzles. Meg has a friendly, handsome cat named Percy and a slightly crazy but loveable dog names Freddie.
